Transmission will not get out of reverse. I had my girl friends brother look at my car, he jammed into gear moved it, went from first to third as it made a racket driving it back and forth not too happy with that. Now he wants to drive it three miles to take a look at and my girl friend is okay with it, but I believe that is just stupid? Any mechanic with me on this?

I cannot say anything about your friend, but I am not sure what you telling me. Is it stuck in reverse or is it now working?

It works fine, does great while being stuck in reverse, but after he jammed it into first because of it not moving and moved the car, then put it in reverse then third gear and reverse and noises started happen now he.

If it is only grinding when shifting into the gear, chances are it is clutch (hydraulics) related. Please understand that without hearing it, it's hard for me to say what is actually happening.
