Hi,
The first thing to check is the fluid level and condition. Make sure there is no evidence of clutch material or metal shavings.
Next, when was the transmission fluid and filter serviced?
What you described above sounds like it is a line pressure issue. We will need to check for codes in the computer. Also, take a look through the following link and let me know if it helps in any way.

What I need you to do is check for codes. This year has an OBD1 system. You don't need a scanner to retrieve codes. Follow the steps in the following link and let me know if you are able to retrieve codes and what they are.

Let me know what you find and if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
