I went and got an oil change and they gave an okay for all fluids. The next day I jumped on the highway heading on a seven hour trip when forty minutes passed my SES light came on twenty minutes pass and I get off at my exit. I make a complete stop and when I pressed on my gas pedal it revved up but barely moved. I pulled into a parking lot and put it in reverse and it worked normally when put in drive it would not move properly. I was able to make it back but the problem is still happening when it wants to sometimes it works then sometimes it does not. The service engine light went off this morning but then came back on five minutes later.

First thing, Does it look like there are any leaks from the transmission?
Check the actual fluid level yourself. Start the engine, leave it in park and pull the transmission dipstick. There should be fluid on the stick partway up the crosshatched area. If not get some Dexron III and add some until it registers on the stick. Test the trans again. If it now works you have a leak or they did not actually check it.

Also try putting the trans into the lower gears manually. If it is an electrical fault at least third gear should work and move the truck. If it does not work you will need to get it scanned to figure out if it is electrical or mechanical in nature. With the mileage you have it is pretty common for the 4L60 transmission to need some work.

It may have a leak or other issue that caused it to lose fluid. I would fill it and then start it and let it idle and look for dripping. There are cooler lines that run up to the radiator and a cooler inside it.
I would rule that out before I did anything else.

Could they? Maybe but it would probably take you more money in law fees to go after them than it would cost to replace the entire car. But it would not hurt to go by there and talk to them about it. Just be very nice and careful about what you say.

I actually called the corporate office and they will be getting back to me. I had a mechanic of my own take a look he said it may have a leak. He also found my intake was loose.

Good job. Stay on top of things and if at all possible get it in writing if they do anything. Keep us in the loop about what happens.
