Transmission would not change gears. Put another transmission in and you have to do thirty mph to change the gear then sixty miles mph to change next gear and so on. Also, the overdrive light on gear shifter is flashing.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

A flashing light indicates overdrive cancel mode activated (lamp on), electronic pressure control circuit shorted or monitored sensor failure (lamp flashing). See picture 1

With that in mind, you really should check line pressure. Here are the specific directions for doing it. Pictures 2 and 3 correlate with these directions,

_______________________________________________________

LINE PRESSURE TEST

CAUTION: Perform the line pressure test prior to the stall speed test. If line pressure is low at stall, do not perform stall speed test, as transmission damage will occur. Do not allow engine to run at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) for more than 5 seconds.

Line Pressure Tap
See pic 2

1. Connect pressure gauge to line pressure tap.
2. Start engine and observe gauge.

Line Pressure Chart
See pic 3

3. Refer to the Line Pressure Chart image for pressure range.
4. If line pressure is low, remove gauge and connect to the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) pressure tap.
5. Start engine, observe gauge, and refer to the Line Pressure Chart.
6. If the EPC pressure is low, perform the Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid Test.

Do this and let me know the results. Also, make sure the transmission filter is properly installed. Low pressure can definitely cause this.
