Hello there. I have a Toyota Town Ace CR27 YOM96 1996CC(2.0L) natural aspirated single overhead cam 8 valve diesel. It has occurred to me that starting my vehicle when the engine is hot after I drive it for some time is difficult. My cold engine starts in a single crank regardless whether the outside temperature is hot or cold. But when I try to start the engine after I drove it for some time and the engine reaching its working temperature it takes long cranks to start the engine. I have driven 150,000 KM and the engine is still in good shape. No engine oil leaks or blown gaskets. I would appreciate any opinions about what caused this situation so hopefully, I can find a solution?

Hello,

It sounds like the engine coolant temperature sensor is not working right. Do you have a check engine light on? If so let's read the codes here are two guides to help us get started.

and this guide will walk you through the steps of changing the sensor
