Good afternoon,

Hope anyone can assist me with the following.

I have the car listed above with an automatic choke. I replaced or repaired the following:

1. Carburetor (AISAN) reconditioned
2. Battery new
3. Alternator new
4. Starter new

I have recently experienced the problem where the car refuses to start in the mornings when its cold or where the car have been standing overnight.

I have checked everything I possibly can and need advice please.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is extremely limited. If this vehicle has a carburetor and isn't fuel injected, here is what I suggest. Before starting it when the engine is cold, fully depress the gas pedal to set the choke, remove the air filter cover and inspect the choke flap. It should be nearly closed. If it isn't, then you have to adjust the choke spring by loosening the three screws on the automatic choke and slowly turn it until the choke plate (flap) is nearly closed. It should remain approximately 1/8" open. I found a pic online which is what you may be looking at on your vehicle. I highlighted the portion that will need adjusted.

Now, if the vehicle doesn't have a carburetor (I have to be honest, I didn't think anyone still used one in 2004) let me know. There could be an issue with what is called the engine coolant temperature sensor.

Let me know.

Joe

Dear JACOBANDNICKOLAS

Thank you kindly for the swift reply, I have diagnosed the following error on my carburetor
just for the record it is a carburetor motor, I have checked your advise when I started my car this morning, I have noticed the following,

On the Image I have circled the part that feels loose and when I move that certain part I can hear the difference in the idling

Can that present a problem? Also when I rev the car I can hear kind of a whistling noise coming from the carburetor.

But whats bugging me is when I close the carburetor with my hand almost like choking it, it shuts off so I am still not sure how can that make the car to struggle that much.

Welcome back:

Is there a cable running to the part that is loose? I believe it is the throttle plate actuator. See if it turns when you depress the gas pedal. As far as a whistle, if the throttle plate shaft is worn (loose), it may be causing an air leak (vacuum leak). That will cause idle issues. Now, if that is the throttle plate, that is why you are hearing a change in idle.

Is it possible for you to record exactly what is happening? It may help a lot.

Was the choke closed when you checked it this morning?

Let me know.

Joe
