2005 Toyota Tacoma Four Wheel Drive Manual

the compass and outside thermometer stopped working, then briefly came on, then has not worked for a year. Checked fuses and all are ok. If a wire is loose inside how can I remove the cover and check?

Sorry to hear your compass and ambient temp display isn't working. Unfortunately, this is a common issue with the '05 to '09 Tacomas. It is possible to temporarily fix it yourself (search google for forums), however the repair doesn't last long due to previous oxidation of the components.
