CkEngLight came on at 103k miles OBDII said cat converter, replaced with aftermarket unit came on again after10 days, replaced with "better aftermarket unit"(Eastern) CELight came on again after 35 days. Consulted with dealer who said I must use a Toyota unit.(1) assuming that it actually is the CC, Is this a true statement? I am prone to look for other engine reasons and should(2) I ask for a dealer evaluation? I could spend a lot of money "messing around"!

Thank you! Robert

Dont trust a dealer, theyre all about money and overcharging, get another opinion, and if you are looking for control units, ecm, tcm, bcm, pcm, dont be afraid to go to a salvage yard and get one, you'll save tons of money and chances are they will perform just as good, if not better than a brand new one. No dont ask the dealer for an eval. Aftermarket cats arent bad, they just wanted you to get one from them. Rob, get yourself another engine and see if autozone can pull anycodes out of it, its free anyway. Cant lose. Keep me posted
