WAS IMFORMED BY MECHANIC SMALL CRACK IN HEADGASKET HAVE A LEAK IN FRONT OIL SEAL ALREADY HAD COMPRESSION CHECK LOW COMPRESSION ONE CYLINDER BLOCK OKAY; NO WATER IN OIL NO STEAM OR WATER FROM TAILPIPE. REPLACED THERMOSTAT MONTH AGO STILL GET OVERHEATING PROBLEM DAYTIME ONLY NOT AT NIGHT ANY SUGGESTIONS; DRAINED WATER TWO DAYS AGO ADDED NEW ANTIFREEZE DRIVE FOR HALF HOUR GETS TO TOP OF WHITE LINE 1/2 INCH FROM RED ZONE.

Did he replaced the headgasket and also find out what causing that cylinder to be low in compression. Seems to me you have a combustion gas leakage.

Get it block and pressure tested. BTW did you bleed the cooling system? Could be air lock in it.
