1986 Toyota Pickup warning lights flickering on/off

so when i get up to 40mph or so my battery and brake warning lights flicker on and off. it seems like a loose connection or a short as the hand brake is definitely disengaged and the battery is in fine shape and snugly connected. any ideas?

I would suggest checking the alternator and its charging rate.
