I was thinking about purchasing a 2002 toyota carolla. Neither the drivers side window nor the passenger side mirror are working. It could be the motors, but it seems unlikely that two motors would quit on a 2002. What are some other likely causes?

The most common cause of both not working is the common door switch. Go to a salvage yard and get a switch ands see if that will fix it.

Another cause might be that a young person owned the car and tried to add a door speaker and disconnected or cut the wires.
