The hood on my 2001 toyota car will not stay latched. When I popped my hood to add washer fluid, the lever inside stayed out. I pushed it back, but now the hood will not latch completely. it raises to the point where you reach in and release the primary latch, but the secondary one that keeps it flush with the fenders, does not latch. What do I have to do to make this work again?

It sounds like the latch got accidentally closed with out he hood being shut which happen. Here is a guide that will show you what to do except it is a door but they work off of the same principal.
