2007 Other Toyota Models using the parking brake

my mom drives a 07 yaris the only automatic transmission we own but our drive way is a hill and she never uses the parking brake yesterday for the first time i felt the transmission slip is it because she doesnt use the parking brake or does she need her transmission flushed and serviced

HI there e, not using the park brake will not adversely affect the transmission as it will lock up in park with the internal locking pawl, but the hand brake would be a good idea to take any load of the transmission, anyway i would get the transmission serviced and inspected as a precaution.
