Takes forever to fill up.

1999 Toyota Corolla 5 speed

It takes forever to fill up this vehicle. The pump clicks off or spits up gas. We have checked to make sure the gas lines are not kinked. Any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix would be appreciated.
