Yesterday my car over heated suddenly and shut down. This was at night and we had driven it all day with no problems and this has never happened before. We refilled the coolent and that didn't help any. Battery is fine and it makes noises like it wants to start but won't turn over.

Pull the plugs out and look for coolant if there's any could be the headgasket blown cracked head or block. Coolant and gas is not combustible

Hopefully still under warranty?

Talk to Toyota about it, it is RARE for the 1ZZFE or 1ZZGE engine to crack a head or have a bad head gasket this early.
