2006 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Automatic 14000 miles
This started a few weeks ago as the weather started to get colder.
On cold mornings, my car starts making a noise (I'd describe it as a grinding sound, I guess) when I shift it from park into reverse. On ~30-35 degree mornings, when I shift from reverse into drive, the noise goes away; on colder mornings, the noise continues while I'm in drive and is especially loud when I'm cruising or breaking and gets quieter / goes away as I accelerate. Once the engine warms up, the noise stops.
What do you think this could be? How potentially serious is it, and how do you recommend I proceed?
