Hi there,

The first thing to be checked is the refrigerant level, if the comp is not turning on, the chances are that the system has a leak and the low pressure switch has cut in, tart here.

Hello! Thanks for the answer. Yes, the comp is not engaging. How could you check if it is low of refrigerant? What should I do?

Hi there,

Using a A/C pressure manifold you will get the static pressures of the system, this will give the tech and indication as to the refrigerant level, or you can cheat a little. Locate the receiver dryer it will have a sight glass on the top, hot wire the comp clutch wire to 12V and watch the sight glass if there is no movement the system will be void of gas or close to anyway, if it bubbles up it is very low on gas, don't run the comp to long like this as the refrigerant is also part of the lubrication system of the comp.

Hello! And thanks again. I can't find the receiver dryer, I had a refrigerant that I used before and charge it again but the comp is not engaging, do I need to buy the oil for the comp to lubricate and charge it to the lower port?

No, that should be OK for now, I think it is time for a mechanic to take a look at the electrics, if you have no power at the comp, and the refrigerant level is OK, this will need deeper investigations, have you located the dryer yet, it is round and should be near the condenser at the front of the car, it will or should have a switch mounted on the top, this is the low pressure cut out switch, bridge it out and see if that kicks in the comp.

I could not find the dryer, does the 04 corolla don't have?
I noticed when I turn the A/C there is air coming out on the vent near the windshield, is that normal when you turn the A/C? Thanks again for your help.
