2002 Toyota Corolla 02 sensor

160,000 The engine light has been on over a year with no discernable difficulties. Toyota computer said it was the o2 sensor. Changed the sensor and the light is still on. Another dealer suggested it was the catalytic converter.

So what is it? And what to do? And does it matter if the car is running well.

Have the PCM scanned at most autoparts stores for free, see what error codes you have.

The O2 sensor could have partially clogged the CAT, have a backpressure test performed.
