How do I remove the drive axle from the transmission

They are held in place with a "C" clip on axle shaft and they pop out.

Raise car, put on stands, use pry bar between the axle tripod and trans case, they pop out.

The BEST way to get them out is to use a slide hammer with a large "C" shaped attachment, insert between axle shaft at trans. And tripod, use slide hammer to pull axle out.

VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure to refill the differential fluid after axle is installed, and also change axle seals.
