1986 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

My Corolla has a new motor from japan, OEM replacement. A Toyota Re-manufactured Carburetor, new vacuum lines, new air filter, new spark plugs & wires as well as a new distributor cap. My issue is the it as a really high idle after warm up. Without a tach, I would say it would be around 1200 rpm with thermostat bypass (the hottest setting), and 1400 rpm w/o bypassing the thermostat (set to the coldest setting). The car had sat for 5 months after all the new parts, with low to no gas in the tank. Upon start-up, 5 months later, fresh premium gas and now my problem. What could be making this happen. Please Help!

The carburetor should have an idle speed adjustment.

It does have the adjustment screw, it has no effect on the idle. Only when I disconnect a vacuum hose to the choke flap diaphragm. Any other ideas? Please Help!

All that linkage has top be set up correctly. Just find someone that knows how to set up a carb and they should be able to straighten it out. It's just adjustment issues.
