maybe a stupid trans question BUT HELP NEEDED

Could be torque converter.Could be a bad pump.

Check the TPS and VSS before you attempt to work on the tranny's solenoids. Remember its an electronic controlled transmission.

I had a 5SFE with a 4 speed auto FWD, and it was bad trans fluid.

Last Fluid and filter change

The TPS control throttle pressure and the VSS is the governor pressure. less expensive fluid and filter do this and see what happens-it might clear up.
