Engine Performance problem
2002 Toyota Celica 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have tried getting fault codes from the car 4 times. Each time I disconnect the battery let the car sit for half an hour reconnect it run the car for ten to fifteen minutes. Never get the same codes twice. Car still dose not run right. Is the ecm bad and is there a way to test it. This is part of the 2002 celica fismire question.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

You will have to check the fault codes as they will identify what part of the engine management system is at fault. If you are suspecting a faulty ECU, most spare parts outlets can source a test and try unit, for a small fee you can try a known good ECU. But test call is to identify the codes and check those systems out first.
