I have a Toyota Celica Gt4 and when it reaches 2000 rpm the engine light comes and 4000 rpm its misfires or when I go really fast. Its Drives fine if I dont go fast.
I went to garage which only deals with sports and performance cars and they said it is a knock sensor, So I got a knock sensor installed and it still misfires. Please help.

Hi
if the knock sensor did not solve the prob then most likely it is because the timeing is going to far out of range.
The knock sensor does exactly what it say's. It listens for a knock when it senses one it tells the ecm to advance timeing.
So if the ecm can.T advance timing enough to satisfy the knock.
Possibly a stretched timeing belt or chain. I would check all of the timing

Thanks for your help. I actually had a slight feeling it could be something to do with that. But anyway thank you very much.

Hi the problem is solved. The car was over boosting so the mechanic manually adjusted the boot controler. But he reccomnded a electronic boost controller woud be better.
