1993 Toyota Celica Idle Is a 2000rpm. NOT GOOD

So I have the 1.6L 4aef motor I think

my car has trouble starting and when it does it is in park and the idle is at between 1k and 1200rpm
and it revs up and down by as much a 300rpm either way.

when in drive and stopped at a stop light it idles at 1k

i know for a fact the car is supposed to idle at 800rpm.

after a long drive I park the the car and the idle is at 2000rpm and reving up and down slightly from that.
its not good I know, cause when I shift gears the whole car lurches and the enging throws itself fowards in the motor mounts.
its at waayyy to high of and rpm for idling.

ive been told that the problem is the IAC valve.
i took off everthing to get to it and the darn thing is part of my intake system, it will not come off, no screws.

whats worse is that all the replacement parts online are $200

please tell me there is something I am missing here?

there are more things that can cause this then the iac. A vac leak is the usual culprit.

The fact that the idle is fluxuating we call this searching. The ecm is trying to find the desired idle but it can't because something is wrong.

Clean the throttle bore really good with carb cleaner

spray real good then start engine let run for a min shut off eng repeat this step.

Make sure all hose connections are tight includeing air cleaner hoses.

Make sure accell cable is adjusted properly

I even did a smoke test on the vac lines. Nothing leaks.
PCV valve was replaced.
Throttle cable is fine
cleaned out throttle body many mnay times. Its shines now.
Replaced the air filter.
Cleaned fuel injectors
new spark plugs and wires
new fuel filter

idk what else to check.

The problem lessens when the car has been driven for a while but it is always there.
And with the idle reving the car shakes and rumbles around ALOT when the rev is dropping before it goes back up again.
And now there is the loud tapping or clicking that speeds up when I start driving.

Any idea what is going wrong with my car?
I love this thing but it cant look at me and tell me whats wrong.

The car was smoke tested and there were no leaks around that gasget.
They are now looking into EGR vac valves.
But I will have them double check that gasget just to make triple sure.

My other questions is, this is not all that is wrong with the car right now, so if this motor does die, are any of the other 93 celica motors able to be put in place of the 4afe motor?
Like the GT or GTS motor? Are the motor mounts the same?

Yes as long as engines are same the car has plenty of interchangeable engines. But whoever replaces the engine will want to get exactly the same less labor switching parts
