I had my car service, during the service I was informed about two leaks, they were repaired. 3 weeks later my car was leaking again, this time, the leak is coming from valve cover. What do you have to do to repair this leak? Can you recommend a reliable, reasonable repair shop, in city of Oakland, Ca. or near this city?

Hi there,

These engines will leak oil into the spark plug tube, these tubes are screwed in and can be carefully removed and re sealed. a new rocker cover gasket should stem any other leak as long as it is tight, and the rocker cover is not cracked, Cam shaft seals are another problem, but they are internal (behind the timing cover) and not normally replaced with a rocker cover. Wash down and re check for any leaks in a day or so after repairs. As for a mechanic , sorry, i live in Australia!!!
