My car (98 camry) recently had some noises near the front tires whenever it passed the bumps or uneven ground. So I had the front struts and strut mounts replaced at a highly named auto care provider. After the replacement, the previous noise disappeared. But there appeared another kind of grinding noise whenever turning left or right.
I went back to the auto care provider and asked them to fix the new problem their repair caused. They thought the new noise was caused by the CV axle, and had it replaced. But it didn't solve the problem at all.
What do you think could be the cause of the problem? Could it be due to the new struts/strut mounts? Or something else? Also, should the auto care provider be fully responsible for the new problem, since the car really didn't have this problem at all before it went into their garage? They now suggest we have the car inspected by a Toyota dealer to determine whether or not they should be responsible for this problem. Is this a fair solution for me, a consumer?
