Expansion valve

I have a 96 Toyota Camry, the AC in the car is supposivly be broken. Sometimes it works, while other times it does not. I believe that the expansion valve is blocked, but i can not locate it, where would it be located? thank you.

Explain exactly what the symptoms are. A expansion valves rarely gets contaminated, it is most always something else. Let me know
