My drivers rear brake light went out a while back, causing the orange light with the lines coming from the rear to come on (on the dash), so I checked to see if it was the light, and it was. So I replaced it. Well, not even a mile later down the road the light came on again. And again, it was another blown bulb. What could be causing this problem? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

It is the same bulb everytime that keeps going out. I've replaced it quite a few time with the same result, it gets blown a mile or so down the road, causing the little yellow/orange car with the lines coming from the rear end (on the dash) to come on. And it only comes on when the brakes are depressed. Could it be faulty wiring, or a fuse? I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, something is telling me that the bulbs are still good and the problem is the socket. Do you know how to check for continunity? If so, check the blown bulb. It has two elements in it, so there are two contact points at the bottom of the bulb. Check both elements. My guess is the bulb is still good and the socket is loosing connection.

Let me know what you find.
