We had snow just recently and I got the car stuck in some snow. I had it in drive I put it in reverse then back in drive and back in reverse. Then I put it back in drive and when I did that, the car would not move. Actually the wheels didnt move. But the rpms would go up and down. Then we had it towed to my yard and the wheels were stuck, and would not turn at all. Then a couple days later we had it towed into our garage, and the wheels started to roll with the car. Then my husband put it in reverse and it moved 6". By itself and that was it. What could have happened to my tranny for it to do that? It gave no sign that it was even going out but the fliud is black. That was not our fault. We bought it that way. What do I do? And I have no money. Thank you for your help

Hi there,

this sound as if the transmission has failed, the black oil is not a good sign at all, this is a sign that the transmission has been slipping and overheating for some time, you will need to get a transmission specialist to test and report on this problem as there will be a few tests that will have to be done to determine the exact cause of this failure.
