I tried to plow out of my driveway during the recent snow storm we had. I pulled forward and then reversed and forward and reverse, when I tried to pull forward again nothing happened. No movement so I tried reverse, No movement. When I put the car in park I heard a grinding noise. Now my car wont go into any gear and everytime I return the shifter to the park postion I hear a grinding noise. Whats wrong? My friend said I bent the rod that connects to the transmission is this correct?

Hi there,

I think that you have damaged the transmission internally, the grinding noise may be the park pawl bouncing around, but no drive is a worry, you best get this towed to a transmission specialist to be fully investigated,
