Basically when the car gets up to operating temperature soon after the power to the distributor will cut out. We have check the spark to confirm this. And when it cools back down the car will start back up. We have changed numerous parts from the whole distributor unit to the cap plugs wires and rotor, the thermostat, we have got 3 different igniter's to try on the car to see if that was it granted they were all from the junk yard I don't see all of them being bad. We even checked the computer and that looked emaculate no signs of any kind of damage. Our next step was to check the coolant temperature sensor are we even going in the right direction? We have got alot of opinions and none of them seem to be working. Any help you can give us we both appreciate.

Check your crank position sensor.

Hi Scottc622,

It is possible for the ECT sensor to be the culprit, but not the temp sending unit.

Check also the EFI main relay.
