Hi:
I have 1 991 Camry with 110,400 miles on it. When you start the car up a small puff of blue smoke comes out, but that only happens when it is first started in AM. I park it in my driveway & there are no oil leaks & the pan is dry. I was told by toyota that it is the vavlve guide & not to worry because it only happens once in awhile. I do not want to have to get a vavle job done, for it will be expensive. What may be a solution to stop the smoke or is it something I DO need to worry about?
Also when the car goes between 50 & 60 it semi shakes. The tires are balanced & new, What could that be? Please help. Thank you.

If this is just a work commuting car, and for as old as the car, I would not worry about having the valve done. If this is the car that you want to take cross country, then I would.

As for the shaking, raise the front of the car and inspect your ball joints and tie rod ends. Grab the wheel front and back, and move them left to right. Then grab top and bottom, and rock the up and down. There should not be play more than 1/8". If there is left to right, that is your tie rod ends, if top to bottom, that is your ball joint. Check both sides.
