1986 Toyota Camry is about the CHECK ENGINE

i write this message because I have a toyota camry 1986 LE whit all electric too much sensors.

and the problem is when I start the engine the car start good but

i wait a few minutes and the check engine light come out and the engine turn off.

i start the engine too many time and do the same thing.

i change the trottle position sensor and for 2 days everything is not good but turns on less time but still do it by now.

and I cant send it to the mecanic and put the diagnostic computer for check engine because the car when turns off is very dificult to turn on the engine after the check engine light comes on?

the question is why this car do that when the check engine light come on

ok is must be a sensor but what sensor?

oxigen?

you hear something like this before.

the car tuns great and everything is working. In the engine air conditioner all the lights.

all the buttoms.

please I need some point to try to find a possible answer about this

Hello Carlos.

You can get the code from the computer your self I will tell you how to do it and how to read the codes.

Open the hood and find the diatonic link connector. It should be near the fire wall, it is a small black box, Lift the lid and you will see the connector. On the in side of the lid you will see a plan of the terminals and there identification. Get a small split pin and join TE1 to E1. That will start the diagnostic mode.

Turn on the ignition to run, do not start. Watch the engine check light, it will be flashing. To read the code, watch the flashing, you will see it flash 1 or 2 times, pause and re flash again 1, 2, 3 or more times. To read count the flashes. Sample, 1flash pause 3 flashes = code 13, 2 flashes pause 4 flashes = code 24 and so on. Report the codes and we can start to find out what is going on.
