transmission/clutch?

toyota 4runner sr5 2000, 184000 mil., 4wd, manual.
loud engine reving, except when clutch is in. Also car slid about 3 ft. over night while parked in gear wlth parking brake set.
she has no apparent leaks.
last work done was front axel, and tie rods.

The way you describe it is sounds like the clutch is slipping big time-You need a new clutch assy.
