In the three days my 4 runner is jerking at low speeds in forward and reverse, I only notice it when I ease off the brake easy the whole vehicle starts jerking but when I press the it stops. But once I hit the gas not jerking, feel no loss of power. But again when I stop and ease the brake a little the vehicle starts pulsating again. I wonder if the engine misfiring, fuel pump, or tranny. Please help me to start searching for the problem without getting hammered.

Thanks in advance

Hi:
Do you feel the pulsation in neutral or only drive and reverse? Also, have you checked the trans fluid to make sure it's full?

Has the check engine light come on?

No, I do not feel pulsation when car is in neutral, I look for transmission dip stick, only could find oil stick, please help me locate so I can check trans level and color. Check engine came on once but do not stay on for long. Went to autozone today, engine light was not on and no codes came up when I had them check for trouble codes.

The new ones are sealed, but I believe the 2004 should have one. It will be black near the firewall. It's not traditional looking. It has a knob about the size of a marble.

Let me know if you find it. I think it's on the passanger side, but check both. And, it can be hard to see.
