The tire pressure valve registers on my cluster "-" lbs of pressure, while going through a certain stretch of road. A yellow light goes on the cluster. After forty minutes or so the yellow light goes out and the tire pressure valve registers 38 lbs again. This has happened twice, once on my right front and once on my right rear. Is this due to some type of interference in that area of the road or due to some faulty valve sensor? I had 5 new tires installed before this started happening, and this happened on the first long trip after they were installed.
Thank you,
James Felland

Did the problem happen on the same road before the tires? Electromagnetic Interference (EMI): Certain areas with high electromagnetic interference, such as near large power lines, radio towers, or specific industrial equipment. If not, then the sensors could have got damaged when the tires were installed which is common. The problem is for just one tire, correct? If so, chances are the sensor is bad. Here is information on the tires pressure sensors. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

This problem only happened after the new tires were installed.
The problem was in the same area of the road, at two different times. Once going to OKC and once going from OKC, both on I-44. Each time was a different tire, the right front and then the right rear. I am going into my Dealership for the free tire rotations Sept 10th and will have them check the sensors for defects. Thanks for your help and I will update you on the Dealership response. Love your service. James Felland 8/27/24

Hi Ken,
I asked my Dealer about checking out the Tire Pressure Monitors on the tires. They said it happens to them also and it is an outside signal which cancels out the monitor to the inside cluster for a short time and then comes back on. If it happens in other areas, they will look further into it.
