Rough skidding noise after replacing tie rods

So I started to change my tie rods and from the beginning it was difficult, the bolt and nut that's connected to the lower control arm would not come out. I finally ended up cutting the bolt off and finally the bolt was out. Then I got the other end off and put the new tie rod screwed on and it was harder to slide the bolt threw the hole on the lower control arm but finally I ended up getting it all put back together. Now I have this weird noise it's like rough skidding noise and it's when I turn. I'm nervous to do anything. I don't know what's wrong please help.

Hello, I'm Danny.

I've attached a couple pictures below of the lower control arm. Can you decipher which bolt that you cut and is giving you a problem? I've circled a few in red. Get back to us and we'll have a better idea on how to diagnose the issue. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Update on my car: I got the tie rod in the car but now it feels really loose and makes these weird noise the bolt that was giving me trouble was the one connected to the tie rod that was connected to the upper control arm.

Did you count the number of turns to remove the old tie rod end and fit the new one back with the same turns? This is only an approximate initial setting and you will need a wheel alignment as I feel that the scrubbing noise is incorrect toe in adjustment. Ensure the securing nuts are tight and a new split pin is fitted.

I did remember to count and from what I remember in school you count how many times you twist the only one off and then you twist the new one the same amount of times and then tighten the back. If I'm correct let me know. But
thanks everyone for your input I believe that mhpauto is correct I think I may have a extra turn or not enough turns. I'm going to get a alignment in the morning so hopefully after it's done I'm back on the road driving smoothly.

Yes, you do need to replace the tie rod ends the same number of turns, but this is only a approximate setting, the toe in will need to be checked on an alignment machine as you can’t accurately set this by eye.

Yes, be sure to have an alignment performed after this repair. Just be sure to have that castle nut secured tight enough to get it to the alignment shop. They will be able to properly torque everything after performing the alignment on your car. Let us know if you have any further questions on this issue.
