I am not sure about removing the inner fender liner, but it is what the instructions say, the transmission will not operate when it is unplugged, I just wanted to see if the temperature gauge acted normal when it is unplugged to confirm the issue.

When my wife parks the car, I’m Not sure that I can take the wheel off and get the CVT unplugged in under two minutes. Even with the inner wheel well removed ahead of time. The temperature gauge usually returns to normal in that 2-minute time frame. I don't want to do it, but I think we’ll have to spend the $120.00 an hour at our local Ford dealer. I will however make sure they don’t duplicate everything I’ve done and waste that time.
