ECT sensor location

I am trying to find the ECT sensor by the air filter. I am told we have 2 sensors but I only found 1. It is near the front and looks like it is on the engine. I am told by people that the second is near the oil filter but cannot find it anywhere. Are you able to give a description or photo?

Here's what I was able to find for the 3.6L engine. That's the only option in 2014.

Just a quick question to about the temperature sensor. I don’t want to brake off the connector. Is that red piece the tab I pull out then remove? Or is there a safety tab underneath?

Hello,

If you look at the connector there should be a little tab that you press down on and then pull the connector apart, if not, then the sensor will have a raised male piece and the connector (harness side) will have a tab that goes over the male piece and snaps in place over it. The tab will have to lifted and the connector pulled of the sensor. A quick inspection or feel on the connector/sensor should tell you right away. Either way, just use a little care and you should be fine.

Oh, wanted to ask one more thing. What spray can I put on the threads of the sensor to make it go in easier? Will carburetor cleaner be fine?

Hello again,

I would highly recommend that you don't use carburetor/brake cleaner anywhere on your engine where electrical components are located. Carburetor and or brake cleaner is some seriously powerful stuff and will no problem eating into and destroying electrical components, wires, and hoses, as well as gaskets. If anything is needed a quick shot of wd40 or PB blaster and let it soak in for 10 - 15 minutes should help. I doubt that any should be needed though, these ECT sensor usually come out pretty easy. Please get back to us with how it goes.
