Hello

I have been hearing clicking sounds when I turn left and right while driving. They seem to stop when I stop pushing down on the gas. I also smell something unpleasant when I turn the heat on in my car. The last time I had my car checked out(oil change place), they said the radiator needed to be flushed and it was bone dry. I didn't do it since they milked me for about 150 for a transmission flush already. I am about due for another oil change and I just wanted to know if I should get that done or the clicking sounds fixed. How much would it cost if it's the CV axle or ball joint?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Hi:
It does sound like a cv joint. The part will be in the area of 150 -- 200 plus APROX 1.5 hours labor.

As far as the smell, it sounds like the heater core is leaking. It will make that smell, plus you will loose coolant (oil change people said the rad was empty). Feel the carpet on the passanger side. If it is wet, chances are it's coolant from the core. I would have that checked.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Joe
