After sitting for about 4 years I repaired a car that had a bad timing belt bearing. It ran 4 years ago, now I get no spark at the plugs. Can anything go bad from just sitting?

Are you getting power to the coil?

I have a manuel but it doesn't tell how to test the ignighter but I put my meter 0n the red/green wire which shows it goes to the coil and it reads low volts. And I'm not sure i'm testing the coil right but according to the book, the coil test bad. Just wondering before I spend money on something I might not need. Why the coil would go bad just sitting in the garage for a few years. It was fine before.

Many times moisture can cause the problem. If the engine isn't warming things up under the hood and the part isn't used, they go bad. If it checks bad, that is most likely the problem.

In my past E-mail I stated that my 92 subaru sat for 4 yrs. Garage kept, and now after replacing the timing belt, the car which ran previously now has no spark at the coil. Well its not the coil. So how many volts should be coming from the Igniter? And what sends the juice to the Igniter? Is there something else I'm not checking?
