Overheating troubles. I have replaced the usual parts. Is it true that if it has a serpentine belt that the fan clutch runs in reverse? I am not sure where I heard this, how is the best way to tell it is turning the right way? I am nearly sure that the fan clutch is not working properly. When my vehicle overheats, is the fan clutch not supposed to be quite hard to turn? Plus one other known problem is that the tiny little fan shroud is not there. That alone can cause it to get hot, correct? Everything else has been changed. And power washed. Though I probably should have used a mild degreaser on all the fins, like the transmission cooler, A/C outside coil, the radiator itself, replaced hoses, bought a new serpentine belt, I have yo get that done right away. The old belt is cracking, but I have not noticed any slipping or squealing. When I first got the vehicle I noticed a free hanging vacuum line at the left area of the motor near the firewall. I cannot for the life of me find where it goes! It has vacuum, so I felt I had no choice but to plug it up. Any ideas about anything will be greatly appreciated!

Good evening.

What temperature thermostat?

When the engine is running, can you feel air being drawn through the front of the car?

If you power washed the radiator and condenser, you may have closed off the fins from the water pressure. To resolve that, you need a comb for the fins to straighten them out and allow air.

Did you take the temperature of the upper and lower part of the radiator to see if there is a big temperature difference to see if the radiator is working or clogged?

What are the usual parts?
