I came out to start my car for work and the car started but shut off shortly thereafter. We're not sure what's going on. I've got good fuel pressure and the car isn't putting out any codes. It will keep starting but it also keeps shutting off a couple seconds after ignition. The security is not shutting it off.

Good afternoon,

What is the exact fuel pressure?

Did you try the ten minutes relearn for the key?

I did try the ten minute reset I've done it before. I've had that issue within the last year so I knew how to figure that one out but wasn't that. Didn't work as when I started getting into it a little heavier. The fuel pressure was at 50 pounds and held there for over a half hour. There was no security light on and every other time that I tried it the security light was blinking so I knew what the problem was.

My door locks aren't working. My interior light doesn't work. None of the dash lights are working either.

Thank you. The fuel pump is out of spec. It is too low. I would start with replacing the pump.

That doesn't make any sense. It ended up being the BCM. 50 pounds of pressure in the fuel rail on a 3.4 l is normal. I also had to bypass the BCM but putting a 5 ohm resistor inline on the signal wire to the ignition. I really don't think you should be giving people advice. I would have wasted money on a fuel pump I knew I didn't need because you really didn't listen to me and the information I was giving you. Good luck giving other people bad advice. SMFH

You gave me information that was not in the range of specifications. If it is out of spec, it is no good.

You can take the info or not. It is your choice. I go on your input as I am not there to actually check the car myself.

50 is not normal but eventually, you will find out.

Hello,

If I can jump is here can I ask if the security light is flashing when you try and start the car? Sometimes we can get going in the wrong direction, I apologize, now lets fix this car. I have seen the ignition lock security wires break that go to the ignition lock which causes the security to stay on. Here is the pass-lock wiring diagrams so you can see how it works with instructions on how to get to the wires below.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

The security pass-lock wires are black white and yellow. The return signal to the BCM is 5 ohms less to show the BCM that the security lock has been successfully turned off. I soldered a 5 ohm resistor into the yellow line. After doing the security lock reset a couple times the car started and I haven't had an issue since. And I looked up the factory fuel pressure in the fuel rail on a 3.4 l and 50 is normal.

You stated the security was not the issue in the beginning and now it ends up being the issue?

You can accept 50 as a good pressure but the correct pressure is what I stated.

Have a good day.
