Starting problem

When testing the starter not fitted it performs good, but when fitted it gives a click sound. Sometimes very quiet or it cranks but not starting the engine.

Hello,

Okay, the job of the starter is to simply turn the engine over by way of the flywheel and the bend ix gear on the starter. With your vehicle properly supported on jack stands, have a helper try to start the engine while you take a voltage reading on the positive solenoid post on the starter. Make sure your black lead from the multi-meter is attached to the negative battery terminal via a long jumper wire. Get back to us with what you are able to find out, please. It sounds like the starter motor is bad to me or you have a dead battery. Here is a guide to help test the battery.
