Hi,
The idea that it attempts to start when you prime the throttle body can be the result of pouring too much in or not enough.
Did this issue happen all at once? Have you checked fuel pressure? Also, the fuel injection on the vehicle is under the upper intake manifold. If the fuel pressure is good, there could be an issue with the injection.
Do me a favor. I realize you used gas to prime it. See what happens if you use starting fluid. I ask because if it won't start with starting fluid before stalling, we may need to pull the spark plugs to check their condition. Also, if this is the original engine, we may have low engine compression or even an issue with the coolant temperature sensor.
Try that and let me know the results. Also, let me know if you have access to a scan tool with live data. If you could record it cranking with the starting fluid, that would be very helpful.
Let me know.
Joe
