Stalls when I put it into 4WD?

It'll start and run until I put it into 4WD then it just shuts off.

Does it stall in neutral or when you let the clutch out? I would disconnect the transfer case wiring and try it again to see if the transfer case position switch is shorted internally which will make the engine stall. Here is the location. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find.
