I am having a number of problems with my vehicle listed above ES model all of a sudden. It first started out with the car stalling at idle at times and have progressed to running a little rough, also at times, and then the engine temperature gauge started going up past the half way mark with the engine fans kicking in to keep it from overheating.

These are the steps I have taken:
1. Cleaned the throttle body -- only helped a little bit.
2. Changed the fuel pump relay -- did nothing at all.
3. Changed the TPS switch -- nothing really changed.
4. Changed the thermostat but when I took the bottom radiator off of the thermostat housing no water came out of the hose and after I put the new thermostat in and reconnected the hose the hose was cool to the touch. I took the thermostat cap off and do see some, but not a lot of bubbles in the antifreeze. Also, no water is being pulled out of the reservoir. The gauge is only getting up to half way but like I said the heater now is not working. The blower is working but no heat since I installed the thermostat.

No engine light is on in the dash.

What might be going on with my car?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a blown head gasket which will cause all of the symptoms you are describing.

Let confirm the issue by following this test.

Please let us know what happens.
