Truck belongs to my 84 year old mother in law. Began sputtering, losing power. She took it to a friend of a friend. So far he has replaced 3 DF FED CONV, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil pack and no idea what else. The truck is still at shop and can't be driven. Any ideas? I do not think this guy knows what he is doing please help.

Have they done a compression test? contaminated fuel? Low fuel pressure? They need to be checking all of these first.

I do not think so, he did the spark plug stuff first then said catalytic converter. He then sent truck to muffler shop (twice) to get these three parts installed. It is currently still at muffler shop and he wants her to tow back to his shop so he can try a few more things. I fear she has spent way more than it is even worth and it still will not run. Thank you so much.
