Installed new speed sensor S8023 in transmission and it still does not work.

All other gauges on cluster are working.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi,

The power-train control module receives a signal from the rear wheel speed sensor located at the top of the differential for a speedometer reference. Is that the sensor you replaced? See pics 1 and 2. Also, if it is, confirm the tone ring on the differential carrier isn't dirty or damaged. To access the tone ring, the rear differential cover will need removed (see pic 3). However, that isn't required until the sensor is installed and isn't working.

Let me know if this is what was replaced.

Take care,
Joe
