Check engine light turns on, transmission not shifting properly, speed sensor location needed

Check light comes on when driving, at high speeds the rev goes up and it's not changing past fourth gear apparently. Computer diagnostics says rear speed sensor little or no current. Where is this sensor located on a 2007 Toyota fielder s 2zr engine?

Whenever the check light appears the engine runs at high RPMs and no fuel economy. When I stop, switch off the engine and restart it the check light is gone but when I drive off it reappears after a short while. And transmission shifts abnormally.

Hi,

You indicated a rear speed sensor. That is usually what is called a wheel speed sensor and is for the ABS. There is a speedometer speed sensor on the transmission. Is that what you mean?

If you can, let me know what code was found so I don't misdirect you. I attached two pics showing the locations of the two I mentioned.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below (pic 1 transmission, pic 2 rear wheel).

Thank you for your opinion. I inspected the transmission and one sensor (located right behind bell housing) connection was corroded and my rear right wheel speed sensor is wire was bitten by a dog, but I reconnected it could this cause my problems? When I discovered the broken ABS wire the ABS light was on but after reconnecting it the light was gone. Sorry I don't have the code. Could a faulty ABS sensor or wire stop transmission from operating properly?

The transmission pic you provided is not the same as mine. My car is a 2007 Toyota Axio Fielder with a 2zr engine cc1800 with a CVT transmission.

Hi,

I based it on the Corolla you listed. The model vehicle you have isn't offered in the US, so I don't have the specifics for you. I was hoping that the pics could direct you.

I'm sorry for the confusion. If you can provide the specific diagnostic trouble code that was retrieved, I will likely be able to help better.

Take care,

Joe
